Bangladesh has received the highest project loan commitment in the history of Japanese Yen loans for the first time.
Rising Bengal Dhaka Bureau: The Government of Japan has committed US $3393 million project loan and development assistance equivalent to 373,247 million Japanese yen to the Government of Bangladesh in the Japanese fiscal year 2020 (April 2020-March 2021).
This makes Bangladesh the first country to receive the highest amount of project loans and development assistance in a single fiscal year in the history of Japanese yen loans.
This was informed at a virtual meeting between Fatima Yasmin, Secretary of Bangladesh Economic Relations Division, and Naoki Ito, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh, held on Wednesday (March 31).
