Rising Bengal Dhaka Bureau (6 May): Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Khulna City Unit distributed relief materials among 100 destitute disabled people at Shaheed Hadis Park in the city on Wednesday (5 May) afternoon with Talukder Abdul Khaleque, Mayor of Khulna City Corporation and Chairman of Red Crescent Society City Unit as the chief guest.

While distributing relief materials, the city mayor said Bangladesh Red Crescent Society works with the people in the service of self-esteem Red Crescent Society has been helping the helpless people since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak.

He said that the disabled are a part of the society and there is no scope for their neglect The government has introduced special allowance for the disabled Disabled people are not a burden but an asset to the society.

The mayor distributed seven and a half kilograms of rice, one kilogram of pulses, one kilogram of sugar, one kilogram of potato, one liter of oil, 500 grams of semolina and one kilogram of salt per head among 100 disabled people at the programme, attended by Md Moinul Islam Palash, officer of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Khulna City Unit.
