India wants to buy Covid-19 drugs from Bangladesh.
Rising Bengal Dhaka Bureau: India wants to buy 50,000 pieces of Remdesivir, a drug effective in the treatment of coronavirus (COVID-19), from Bangladesh to fight the global pandemic COVID-19.
The Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Hemant Soren has written a letter to the Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shri D V Sadananda Gowda in this regard.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said on his official Facebook page on Sunday that Remdesivir is needed to save corona patients.
The drug is not available with any company in India, so he wants to buy $1 million worth of Remdesivir from the company Beximco in Bangladesh.
Jharkhand, like other Indian states, has seen a surge in the global pandemic, with nearly 160,000 cases and 1,406 deaths.
