In the context of the emerging situation in Bangladesh, the politics of Qawmi madrasa students and teachers is prohibited.
Rising Bengal Dhaka Bureau: In the situation arising after the recent violent activities of Hefazat-e-Islam in different parts of Bangladesh, all Qawmi madrasa students and teachers have been banned from politics.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Standing Committee of Al-Hayatul Ulaya Lil Jamiatul Qawmia Bangladesh, the highest policy-making body of Qawmi madrasas in Bangladesh, on Sunday (April 25), said a press release signed by the board's office secretary Md Aashiur Rahman.
The meeting also urged the government to release the recently arrested Qawmi madrasa students, teachers, clerics, devout Muslims, and imams and mullahs of the mosques in view of the blessed month of Ramadan and specifically requested not to harass the clerics, students of the madrasa and devout Muslims.
