Rising Bengal Dhaka Bureau: Puthia Rajbari or Panchani Zamindar Bari is the residence of Maharani Hemanta Kumari Devi Rajshahi's Puthia Rajbari is one of the archaeological heritages of Bangladesh The present two-storey rectangular palace was built by Maharani Hemanta Kumari Devi in attractive Indo-European architectural style in 1895.
Puthia Upazila is located 32 km northeast of Rajshahi district headquarters on the Rajshahi-Natore highway The Puthia Zamindari was the oldest of the various princely states of Bengal during the reign of the Mughal emperors in the 17th century It is said that it became known as Puthia Rajbari after a certain Nilambar received the title of'Raja'from the Mughal emperor Jahangir (160527 AD).
