Bangladesh Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzak MP said that the international standards of agricultural products must be maintained to remain competitive in the international market.
The agriculture minister said this while addressing the chief guest at an online interaction with'Vegetable and Fruit Exporters'from the conference room of the Ministry of Agriculture at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Sunday (April 11).
The Minister said that the government's focus in agriculture now is to make agriculture profitable by processing and commercializing agriculture For this, we have to increase the export of agricultural products We are thinking about how to set up processing industries and provide more support to entrepreneurs The government is giving utmost importance to how the agricultural products produced can go to the domestic market as well as the international market.
Therefore, those who are directly involved in export and working on quality improvement will be provided with all-out support.

The Bangladesh Agriculture Minister further said that agriculture is very important in Bangladesh Agriculture provides food security to the people It also provides raw materials for various industries The processed products that we get from this raw material supply have a lot of potential for export Even now, our exports are limited to the most of the readymade garments.
Almost 80-84 percent comes from the readymade garments sector Along with this, agriculture is a potential sector If we can do processing and ensure safe vegetables and fruits, then we can also export agricultural products to the international market.

The speakers at the meeting shared their views on the measures to be taken for exporting agricultural products The Agriculture Minister listened to the views and experiences of various stakeholders and suggested that another meeting be held soon among the agencies to discuss how the Ministry can collaborate with their recommendations.
