At present, there is no shortage of laborers for harvesting the rice in Haor There are enough laborers Also, adequate rice harvesters, reapers, and other equipment have been allocated to Haor this year.

The Bangladesh Agriculture Minister further said that this year we have tried our best to increase the production of rice rice than ever before There was no dearth of our efforts More land was brought under cultivation, rice of improved varieties and hybrid varieties was given great importance Incentives including seeds, fertilizers were provided to the farmers.

Incentives worth Rs 76 crore were given to the farmers for seed assistance of hybrid rice Besides, the field level officers and staff of the Agriculture Department worked hard during the Corona period even at the risk of their lives, stood by the farmers, motivated the farmers for the cultivation of new improved varieties of rice, provided technical support.

He added that these initiatives have resulted in the cultivation of Boro rice on more than 120,000 hectares this year compared to last year At the same time, the cultivation of hybrids has increased by about 300,000 hectares compared to last year It is expected that Boro will produce 9-1 million tons more this year than last year.

It is to be noted that the target of Boro cultivation was set at 48,5200 hectares, with 48,83,760 hectares of land under cultivation across Bangladesh this year The Boro is targeted to produce 25 million tons of rice The Agriculture Minister urged everyone to come forward and cooperate in this regard by following hygiene rules.

According to the Department of Agricultural Extension, Bangladesh, Boro has been cultivated in 9,46,534 hectares in the 7 Haor districts - Kishoreganj, Netrokona, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar, Sylhet, Habiganj, and Brakshanbaria Of this, 451,770 hectares have been cultivated in Haor alone As of 21 April, rice has been harvested in 231,365 hectares of the 7 Haor districts, which is about 25% of the total area.

While rice has been harvested in 180,729 hectares of Haor alone, which is about 40%.

The meeting was informed that the RADP for the current < ID3 > fiscal year has a total allocation of Tk2,300 crore for 82 projects under the Ministry of Agriculture Implementation progress as of March 2021 is < ID2 >%, while the national average progress is < ID1 >%.
