Nomination of three Bangladeshi nationals to the post of Arbitrator and Conciliator in ICSID, World Bank.
The government's Law and Justice Division has nominated three Bangladesh nationals to the prestigious Arbitrator and Conciliator Panel list at the World Bank's International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
The nomination was made by the Department of Law and Justice and forwarded to ICSID through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the nomination was finalized by the Secretary General of ICSID The nominees are included in the ICSID Arbitrator and Conciliator Panel list for a six-year term.
ICSID serves as the main centre for settlement of investment and business disputes between the state and foreign investors The opposing parties can choose arbitrators and conciliators from the ICSID's designated panel Arbitrators are also appointed to various ad hoc committees This nomination to the ICSID panel list reflects the government's consistent efforts to enhance Bangladesh's image and standing in the international arena and to protect its rights.
