To protect the people of this country from the Christian clergy, Swami Krishnananda brought out a monthly magazine, Dharmapracharak, in both Bengali and Hindi.
He also edited the fortnightly Suniti in Bengali and Motherland in English, and wrote several notable works, such as: 1) Gitartha Sandipani, 2) Sri Krishna Pushpanjali, 3) Sri Krishna Ratnabali, 4) Bhakti and Bhakta, 5) Parivrajakar Sangeet, 6) Niti Ratnamala, 7) Prabodh Kaumudi.
Among these, the "Gitartha Sandipani" is particularly notable for its simple interpretation of the Gita In his commentary on the Gita, the literary emperor Bankim Chandra himself remarked, "Its thought and composition will forever remain a jewel in the Bengali language " Swami Vivekananda held Swami Krishnananda in high regard.
