Jammu and Kashmir government has made the tricolour compulsory on school signboards in the state.
Rising Bengal News Bureau: "It is mandatory for all government school signboards in Jammu and Kashmir to have the tricolor of the national flag," the Jammu and Kashmir administration has ordered.
"By issuing the government order, the school education department has announced that every school will have to paint the background of the signboard in the tricolour colour of the national flag and at the same time, government schools will have to be painted in ash and white," an official spokesperson said on Saturday.
Special district-level committees have also been formed to see that the order is implemented properly The government has also announced that every government school will have to complete this work by April 30 and submit weekly reports on how much progress has been made The initiative began in February this year.
A senior official commented that almost all schools have started implementing the initiative and weekly reports have also started being submitted.
