According to sources, some BJP supporters from Amrahati were carrying Ganga water and were chanting Jai Shri Ram when they were attacked by some miscreants, who were apparently under the influence of the TMC.
After the incident, the police lodged an FIR and demanded the arrest of the accused, but as the police did not take any action till this morning, the BJP staged a protest by blocking the Rajarhat-Amrahati road, even though the local TMC has denied any involvement in the incident.
