Rising Bengal Dhaka Bureau: Mathurapur Deul is a deul or monastery located in Madhukhali Upazila, Faridpur District, Bangladesh This archaeological structure is believed to have been built in the 16th century, but some speculate that the deul is a 17th-century structure Historical legend has it that Raja Mansingh, the general of the Mughal Emperor Akbar in Delhi, defeated Raja Pratapaditya in battle and built this deul.

Pratapaditya's battle with Mansingh and Mansingh's victory in that battle are not true to history In 1612, Raja Pratapaditya was fought by Enayat Khan, the brother of Islam Khan, the Subedar of Bengal In this battle, Pratapaditya was defeated and taken to Delhi, in which case Raja Pratapaditya did not build the temple.
