Rising Bengal Dhaka Bureau: State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid MP and Secretary Md Badrul Arefin expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of eminent folklorist and researcher Prof Shamsuzzaman Khan, President of Bangla Academy, Bangladesh, recipient of Swadhinata and Ekushey Padak.

In his condolence message, the State Minister for Culture of Bangladesh said that Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan was a researcher of folk culture and folklore Among his notable works are editing the 64 volumes of the Folk Culture Library of Bangladesh titled Folk Culture Library of 64 Districts and the 114 volumes of the Folklore Library of Bangladesh.

State Minister for Culture KM Khalid said that noted folk researcher Shamsuzzaman Khan will be remembered for his creative works and research.

It may be mentioned that Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan (80) died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in the capital at about 2: 30pm on Wednesday (April 14) while undergoing treatment.
