Rising Bengal Dhaka Bureau: Public transport will operate on the roads under Gazipur, Narayanganj, Comilla, Rajshahi, Khulna, Sylhet, Barisal, Rangpur and Mymensingh city corporations, including Dhaka and Chittagong metropolises of Bangladesh, from 6 am to 6 pm tomorrow (April 7).
Considering the difficulties faced by the people and the public working in various institutions, including public and private, during the lockdown situation, the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh has reconsidered and approved the movement of public transport subject to conditions, Awami League General Secretary and the government's Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said at a press conference held at his residence in the capital on Tuesday (April 6) afternoon.
Obaidul Quader said the vehicles should be disinfected with disinfectants at the beginning and end of every trip and transport stakeholders and passengers should wear masks, use hand sanitizers and ensure that no extra fare is collected from the coordinated fare The road transport minister also said that public transport will remain closed as usual in the long distance till further orders.
