The US has welcomed India's efforts to normalise Jammu and Kashmir.
Rising Bengal Bureau: India's actions to normalize the economic and political situation in Jammu and Kashmir are consistent with democratic values, and the United States welcomes what India is doing in this regard.
The US supports India and Pakistan engaging in a bilateral dialogue on Kashmir and other issues, State Department spokesperson Ned Price said on Wednesday.
Price, however, said that the US wants to see Pakistan resume bilateral talks on all issues, including Kashmir, and focus more on reducing tensions along the LoC.
Last week, India and Pakistan announced a ceasefire along the LoC, effective from midnight on February 24, the first time since 2003 that a formal ceasefire had been declared along the 460-km LoC.
