কাবুলে বিদ্রোহ, ভারতীয়দের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধে ধ্বংস আরব সেনাবাহিনী
বর্তমান কান্দাহার ও হেলমুণ্ড নদীর উচ্চ অববাহিকা সংলগ্ন অঞ্চল এক সময় "জাবুলিস্থান" নামে পরিচিত ছিল।
৬৬৩-৬৪ খ্রিস্টাব্দ নাগাদ কাবুল দখল করে আরব সেনাপতি আব্দুর রহমান জাবুলিস্থানের দিকে এগিয়ে চললেন। জাবুলিস্থানের ভারতীয় হিন্দু শাসকদের সঙ্গে তুমুল লড়াইয়ের পর আরব বাহিনী জয়ী হয়। কিন্তু এরপরেই ঘটে যায় আরব শাসক বদল। ৬৭০ খ্রিস্টাব্দে আব্দুর রহমানকে হঠিয়ে দিয়ে তার জায়গায় অর-রবি-ইবন-জিয়াদকে নতুন সেনাপতি নিযুক্ত করা হয়। মুসলমানদের মধ্যে এই অন্তর্দ্বন্দ্বের সুযোগে জাবুলিস্থানের হিন্দুরা ফের স্বাধীনতা ঘোষণা করেন। তখন কাবুলের শাসক ছিলেন রাটবিল (Ratbil)।"রাটবিল" একটি উপাধি বলে গবেষকদের মত। বিভিন্ন লেখকের লেখায় এই নামের ভিন্ন ভিন্ন বানান লক্ষ্য করা যায়।
যাই হোক, কাবুলের শাসক রাটবিল মুসলিমদের হঠিয়ে জাবুলিস্থান দখল করে নেন এবং বুস্টের কাছে অর্-রুখজ এলাকা পর্যন্ত বিশাল এলাকা ফের নিজের অধিকারে আনেন। এরপর নবনিযুক্ত আরব সেনাপতি অর-রবি-ইবন-জিয়াদের পাল্টা আক্রমণে রাটবিল পিছু হঠেন। আরব বাহিনী অর-রুখজ ও আদ-ওয়ার নগর দখল করে নেয়।
এরপর আরব সেনাপতি নিযুক্ত হোন ওবাইদুল্লা। তাঁর সঙ্গে রাটবিলের সন্ধি হয়। সন্ধির শর্ত অনুযায়ী, যুদ্ধের ক্ষতিপূরণ হিসেবে রাটবিলকে দিতে হয় দশ লক্ষ দিরহাম। তবে এই সন্ধি বেশিদিন স্থায়ী হয়নি।
৬৮৩ খ্রিস্টাব্দে খলিফা এজিদের সময় কাবুলের জনগণ বিদ্রোহ ঘোষণা করেন। বিদ্রোহীদের হাতে বন্দি হোন কাবুলের আরব শাসক আবু-উবেইদ-ইবন-জিয়াদ। খবর পেয়ে বিদ্রোহীদের দমনে ছুটে আসেন সিজিস্থানের শাসক আজিত-ইবন-জিয়াদ। জুনজা নামক স্থানের কাছে বিদ্রোহীদের সঙ্গে আরব বাহিনীর ঘোরতর লড়াই হয়। লড়াইয়ে আরব বাহিনী পরাজিত ও সম্পূর্ণভাবে ধ্বংস হয়ে যায়। সিজিস্থানের শাসক আজিত-ইবন-জিয়াদসহ তাঁর প্রধান প্রধান সেনাপতিরাও নিহত হোন। বাকি সৈন্যরা পালিয়ে যায়। এরপর পাঁচ লক্ষ দিরহাম দিয়ে বিদ্রোহীদের হাতে কাবুলের বন্দি আরব শাসক আবু উবেইদ মুক্তি পান।
এ বিষয়ে ঐতিহাসিক ড: রমেশচন্দ্র মজুমদার জানাচ্ছেন, ---
"Towards the end of reign of Caliph Yezid (64 A.H.--683 A.D.), Kabul revolted once more and imprisoned Abu-Ubaidah-ibn-ziad. Yazid-ibn-ziyad the governor of Sijisthan proceeded against Kabul and a great battle took place at Junzah. But the Muslim army was completely routed. The governor and some distinguished members of the aristocracy lay dead on the field and the rest fled. Abu-Ubaidah had to be ransomed for 500, 000 dirhams."
আরব বাহিনীর বিরুদ্ধে ভারতীয়দের এই বিজয়ের ঘটনা অনেকের কাছেই এখনও এক অজানা ইতিহাস। এ লেখায় আমরা সেই ইতিহাসের পাতাটি পুনরুদ্ধার করার চেষ্টা করলাম মাত্র।
