The nefarious social profession "Sindhuki" was in vogue in Bengal from 1211 to 1576 AD during the Pathan period in the 13th century CE. Why is it so heinous?
The purpose of the occupation is clear from the testimony of the researcher Dinesh Chandra Sen. It is not known how many Hindu women were forcibly married by the Dewans of Jangalbari in Mymensingh and the Dewans of Baniachang in Srihatta in the 16th century. The folk songs narrate the tragic stories."
The Turks, Pathans, Maghs, Portuguese Hermads recruited Sindhukis to find beautiful women, while Sindhukis roamed the Bengal countryside looking for beautiful girls. The target was the beautiful girls of the Hindu households.
This is why Hindu families introduced the practice of Balika Vivah, night marriages, or curtains to prevent girls from going out. None of this is Hindu scriptural, only the circumstances forced Hindus to change these rules. Mymensingh and Jangalbari are two examples. The news of the mass extermination of Hindu girls has never been buried in human memory. And this is one of the reasons why one-third of the Muslims in Bengal are no longer counted.
Between 1202 and 1325 CE, 27 Muslim rulers ruled over the Lakshmanavati kingdom of Bengal. On average, one ruler ruled for four and a half years.
