The Nobel Committee honoured the love of Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee and his wife Esther Duflo on Valentine's Day by sharing a photo of the couple.

It is reported that the photograph was taken by Abhijit Binayak Banerjee and his wife Esther Duflo on 10 December 2019, just before the two were to take the stage together to receive the Nobel Prize honour dressed as'Bengalis '.

They were dressed in Bengali on the day of the Nobel Prize ceremony, with Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee wearing a cream-coloured Punjabi and gold-embellished white Kerala dhoti and a black necktie jacket, while French-American Esther Duflo was dressed as a Bengali bride in a blue sari, red blouse and red tipple.
Esther Duflo, Abhijit Banerjee's second wife, is married to his longtime research associate Esther Duflo, after divorcing his first wife, and they have one child.
