সূত্র মারফত জানা গিয়েছে, গুসকরা পুরসভার ৪ নম্বর ওয়ার্ডের বাসিন্দা ছিল ওই ছাত্রী। ছাত্রীর নাম রাজিয়া খাতুন, বয়স ১৮। জানা গিয়েছে, রাজিয়া গুসকরা হাই স্কুল থেকে উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায় বসেছিল। কিন্তু দর্শন ও ইংরেজি বিভাগে ফেল করে রাজিয়া। এরপর সে আন্দোলন শুরু করে অন্যান্য পড়ুয়াদের সঙ্গে। কিন্তু বুধবার বেলা দশটা নাগাদ তার ঘর থেকে উদ্ধার হয় তারই ঝুলন্ত দেহ। বাড়ির লোকেরা দ্রুত সেখান থেকে তাকে উদ্ধার করে নিয়ে যায় গুসকরা প্রাথমিক স্বাস্থ্যকেন্দ্রে। কিন্তু চিকিৎসকেরা রাজিয়াকে পরীক্ষা করে মৃত বলে ঘোষণা করে।
বর্তমানে পুলিশ দেহটিকে ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য পাঠিয়েছে বর্ধমান মেডিকেল কলেজের পুলিশ মর্গে। এই ঘটনার প্রসঙ্গে রাজিয়ার পরিবার জানিয়েছে, উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষার ফলাফল বেরোনোর পর থেকেই তাদের মেয়ে অবসাদে ভুগছিল। কারণ, সে পরীক্ষায় ব্যাক পেয়েছে।
