জানা গেছে, এই উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানের ঠিক ২৪ ঘণ্টা আগে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় কলকাতার মেয়র তথা পরিবহণমন্ত্রী ফিরহাদ হাকিম, সাংসদ সুদীপ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ও প্রসূন বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়, মন্ত্রী অরূপ রায়, পরেশ পাল, বিধায়ক নয়না বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়দের বাড়িতে আমন্ত্রণের চিঠিটি পৌঁছায়। এই অবস্থায় এইভাবে ‘অপমান’ বলে দাবি করলেন তৃণমূল নেতৃত্বরা। তাঁদের অভিযোগ, চিঠি ‘ছুঁড়ে’ দেওয়া হয়েছে। এরপরেই তাঁরা জানান যে, তাঁরা উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে থাকছেন না।
এই প্রসঙ্গে চলতি সপ্তাহে সোমবারে মেয়র বলেন, “টা একটা অসভ্যতা। মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বাড়িতে রবিবার রাতে একটা কার্ড ছুড়ে ফেলে আসা হয়েছে। প্রোটোকল অনুযায়ী কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রীর থেকেও উপরে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর নাম রাখা উচিত। মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে জিজ্ঞাসা করা উচিত ছিল, তিনি কবে সময় দিতে পারবেন। তা না করে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী, মেয়র এবং অনেকের নামে কার্ড ছুড়ে দিয়ে আসা হয়েছে। আমরা এতটা লালায়িত নয় যে, সেখানে যেতেই হবে। মেয়র বলেন, আমাদের অপমান করা মানে রাজ্যের মানুষকে অপমান করা। আমরা যাচ্ছি না”।
