The Saudi government has given 40 মে.টন dates for the marginalized people of Bangladesh during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Saudi Arabian government has provided 2,000 cartons of dates, amounting to about 40 metric tons, as part of the iftar items for the upcoming month of Ramadan in Bangladesh, to be distributed among the marginalized people of the country.
The date was handed over by the Head of Islamic Affairs, Ahmed bin Hassan Hamadi on behalf of the Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh to the Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Md Mohsin, at the conference room of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Thursday (April 1), while other officials of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief were present.
Speaking on the occasion, the secretary said the Saudi government has provided Bangladesh with 2,000 cartons of dates as a token of friendship to be distributed as part of the iftar items among the marginalized people of the country during the upcoming Ramadan The dates will be sent to the district administration to reach out to those who cannot afford dates during the iftar so that the marginalized people of the country can have iftar with these dates from the first day of the fasting.
He also said that Saudi Arabia is a very brotherly country to us and our relations with them are different as Muslims We have a large number of people who go there to perform Hajj and Umrah He thanked and expressed his gratitude to the Saudi government on behalf of the government of Bangladesh.
Ahmed bin Hassan Hamadi said Bangladesh's relations with Saudi Arabia are very fraternal and the Saudi government is sincere in taking this relationship forward.
