রাইজি়ং বেঙ্গল নিউজ় ব্যুরো: ভারতে সংখ্যালঘুদের নিয়ে উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করল আমেরিকা। সম্প্রতি একটি তালিকা পেশ করা হয়েছে মার্কিন দূত রাশাদ হুসেনের তরফে। তিনি এই তালিকা মূলত প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে আন্তর্জাতিক ধর্মীয় স্বাধীনতা নিরিখে। এই তালিকতেই ভারত রয়েছে দ্বিতীয় স্থানে। রাশাদের দাবি, ভারতে সংখ্যালঘুদের অধিকার খর্ব করার জন্য যাবতীয় 'উপকরণ' রয়েছে। এই ব্যাপারে ভারতের সঙ্গে আমেরিকার কথাও চলছে বলে জানান তিনি।
হলোকাস্ট মিউজিয়ামের ‘আর্লি ওয়ার্নিং প্রোজেক্ট’ (প্রারম্ভিক সতর্কীকরণ প্রকল্প)-কে কেন্দ্র করে তাঁর বক্তব্য, “আমরা গীর্জার উপর হামলা দেখেছি, ঘরবাড়ি ধ্বংস হতে দেখেছি; হিজাবের উপর নিষেধাজ্ঞা রয়েছে; এমন সব বক্তব্য প্রকাশ্যে ব্যবহার করা হচ্ছে যা মানুষের প্রতি খুবই অমানবিক। দেশের একজন মন্ত্রী মুসলমানদেরকে উইপোকা বলে উল্লেখ করেছেন”।
তিনি আরও বলেন, “বিশ্বের বৃহত্তম গণতন্ত্র হল এমন একটি দেশ যেখানে, আমাদের দেশের মতোই, আমরা জোর দিই, আমরা নিশ্চিত করতে চাই যে আমরা আমাদের মূল্যবোধ অনুযায়ী বাঁচি যাতে আমরা আমাদের সম্ভাবনা পূরণ করতে পারি। এটা তখনই ঘটতে পারে যদি আমাদের পূর্ণ অংশগ্রহণ থাকে, সকল মানুষের সমান অংশগ্রহণ থাকে”।
