Hindu organisations have filed a lawsuit against Oxford staff, and have promised to investigate cyberbullying of Rashmi.
Oxford University on Tuesday said it has launched an investigation into the cyberbullying case of Indian student Rashmi Samant, who became the first Indian woman president of the university's students'union She resigned from the post after a social media post made earlier sparked controversy.
The investigation also includes a photo of Rashmi's family posted from the Instagram ID of a person named Dr Abhijit Sarkar, a research scholar at the university Rashmi comments on the photo, describing Hinduism and Karnataka as strongholds of anti-Islamic forces A university spokesperson said posts with similar comments have been taken under investigation.

Several British Hindu organisations, including the Oxford Hindu Society, University Hindu Society, South Asian Society, etc , have filed police complaints against Rashmi over comments made on social media by some others, including staff from the university's history department.
